Thai Cooking School



One thing I have really been missing since I have been home is the taste of chillies. I ate them with just about every meal. I would order every meal extra spicy and I usually got the funny look like "oh we will make it western spicy for you, not true spicy". And every time I would ask for more chillies after the first bite. I made a few local friends that way. I must have severed some taste buds along the way, because I can handle some pretty extreme heat. I was dying to learn to make my own curry paste, so in Chiang Mai I signed up for a cooking course, which was awesome. It was out on a beautiful farm where they grew all of their own vegetables. We each had our own little cooking stations. I made vegetable soup, spicy green curry, pad thai and a coconut and banana dessert AND got to make fire. Yes, the fire was planned.
